BPPV causes brief episodes of mild to intense dizziness. It is usually triggered by specific changes in your head's position. This might occur when you tip your head up or down, when you lie down, or when you turn over or sit up in bed. Often a specially trained physical therapist (such as the ones on our team) may treat you with a series of movements known as the canalith repositioning procedure to cure this condition.
Dizziness and vertigo are symptoms of a vestibular balance disorder. Balance disorders can strike at any age, but are most common as you get older. Your ear is a complex system of bone and cartilage. A sensor in the ear sends the information to your brain to contribute to your sense of balance. These and other delicate pieces make up the vestibular system.Certain things can affect the signals from any of the parts of the vestibular system causing symptoms. Our specialized staff are trained to assess and diagnose the root cause of the balance issue and treat you accordingly.
